Reserve, print, announce
Three steps to the courier. Reserve gets a tracking number. Print gives you the label. Announce tells the courier to come for the parcel.
1. Reserve
Reserving asks the courier for a tracking number. This number is called an AWB. It is printed on the label and used for tracking.
- Open the To reserve tab.
- Click Reserve in the order row.
- The app checks the customer once more. If all is fine, the courier sends back an AWB number.
- The label opens by itself in a new browser tab. The order then moves to To announce.
If the check finds a problem, a decision window opens instead of the label. See Order checks and decisions.
2. Print
The label is a PDF file. Print it and stick it on the parcel. If it did not open right after reserving, the order waits in the To print tab.
- Open the To print tab.
- Click Print in the order row.
- Print the PDF that opens.
When the PDF opens, the order moves to To announce. Need another copy? In the ⋯ menu, click Print again.
Label size
You choose the size in Settings → Printing, under Label format. Pick a format and click Save.
- Thermal 80 mm
- An 80 mm roll, one label per parcel. This is the default.
- Thermal 102 mm
- A 102 mm roll. The label is wider.
- A4 — 3 labels
- Plain A4 paper, three labels per sheet.
- A4 — 6 labels
- Plain A4 paper, six labels per sheet.
The format applies to one shop. If you have more shops, set it for each one.
The browser did not open the label
Some browsers do not let a new tab open. Then you see the message The browser did not open the labels. The PDF is not lost.
- Click Download PDF in the message. The PDF is saved to your computer.
- To make it open by itself next time, allow pop-ups. Click the icon in the browser address bar and choose to allow pop-ups for this site.
- Click Try again in the message.
Until you open or download the PDF, the order stays in To print. That way you never lose a label.
3. Announce
Announcing tells the courier that the parcel is really going. After you announce, the courier comes for the parcel.
- Open the To announce tab.
- Click Announce in the order row.
- The parcel leaves Fast Post. You find it in All Shipments.
When you announce, the order is marked as fulfilled in Shopify. The customer gets an email with a tracking link. In the window after announcing, the Shopify column says if that worked. You can turn this off. See Shopify and the customer email.
Many orders at once
- Tick the boxes on the left of the orders. The box in the list header ticks them all.
- A bar appears at the bottom. It shows how many orders you ticked.
- Click the button for what you want to do.
The bar only shows buttons that work for what you ticked. After a group reservation, a window shows the result. You see which orders went through and which did not. The new labels open in one PDF.
Good to know
- In the shared PDF, labels are sorted by product description, from A to Z. That makes it easier to pack the same products together.
- When you announce more than 25 parcels, they go in parts. A bar shows how much is done.
Can it be undone?
A reservation cannot be cancelled from the app. If you delete a reserved order, the AWB number stays with the courier. The app then shows you that number. Cancel it with the courier, on their portal or by phone.
You cannot change or delete an announced parcel in the app. To change it, contact the courier.
Problems?
It says Courier did not accept.
Hold the mouse over the flag. It shows what the courier says. Most often a detail is missing or the city is wrong. Fix it with Edit, then click Try again.
It says the courier login details are missing.
Enter the username and password from your courier in Settings → Couriers and Shopify.
It says the order is scheduled for a certain day.
You cannot reserve a scheduled order before its day. In the ⋯ menu, click Ship today, then reserve it.
I do not see Confirm announcement.
The button only shows when all ticked orders have an AWB number. Reserve them first.
